  General Notes:

Mary T. Rathbun's parents moved from Indiana to Missouri and in 1872 they came to Kansas in a covered wagon, driving across the Missouri river on ice four feet thick. They settled on a farm on Moore Prairie, which is between Cedar Vale and Sedan, Kansas. They really endured all the harships of the pioneer life, and used oxen to break the sod. she attended school in a home until the Moore Prairie school house was built.

She lived several years near Hewins, Kansas, then in August 1917, shemoved to Cedar Vale where she resided until her death.

She accepted the Lord as her Savior at an early age and lived a consistent Christian life in the Baptist church. Later she united with theassembly of God Movement. She always enjoyed the services when she was able to attend, and read her Bible through several times, always enjoying the word of God, and the fellowship of the Christian people.
